At Scouts, we value the growth and development of our volunteers, empowering them to take on important roles within our organization. One such crucial role is that of a Trustee. To ensure our Trustee Board members are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need, we have developed the Trustee Induction Learning module as part of our comprehensive Getting Started training program. In this blog post, we'll explore the significance of the Trustee Induction Learning and provide you with valuable insights on how to complete the training successfully.

Validation: A Gateway to Learning Confirmation and Application The Trustee Induction Learning module is designed to validate your understanding of the content covered and your ability to apply the acquired knowledge effectively. By completing the assessment and demonstrating your comprehension of the material, you not only solidify your own learning but also assure us that you are ready to fulfill your role as a Trustee confidently.

Simple Steps for Validation: Validating your Trustee Induction Learning is a straightforward process. Once you have completed the assessment, all you need to do is download the certificate or take a screenshot. Then, send it to your volunteer line manager or Training Adviser, who will verify your completion. This ensures that all Trustee Board members in Scouts have successfully undertaken this essential training.

Inclusive Participation: Who Should Complete the Trustee Induction Learning? We believe in inclusivity and recognize that Trustee responsibilities extend beyond specific roles within Scouts. That's why we require all volunteers who are part of a Trustee Board to complete this training. Whether you're a Group Scout Leader, District Commissioner, County/Area/Region Commissioner, or even a Section Leader who has opted in, this module equips you with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill your Trustee duties effectively.

Need Help or Clarification? If you're uncertain about whether you need to complete the Trustee Induction Learning module, refer to POR Chapter 16: Roles Table or reach out to your volunteer line manager, Training Adviser, or our Info Centre for guidance. We're here to support you throughout your learning journey.

Accessible Learning: Technology Tips and Alternatives To ensure a seamless learning experience, our e-learning courses are accessible on desktops, mobiles, and tablets, accommodating a variety of learning preferences. Our platform is compatible with popular browsers such as Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Edge. If you encounter display issues on mobile or tablet, try switching to landscape mode for optimal visibility.

A few technology tips:

Avoid refreshing your browser, especially if you answer a question incorrectly during the assessment, as this may hinder certificate generation.
Remember to download or take a screenshot of your certificate to avoid losing it if you refresh or close the webpage.
In case of technical errors, please contact our Info Centre, and we'll assist you promptly.

We understand that e-learning may not suit everyone's needs. If this is the case for you, don't worry! Talk to your line manager or Training Adviser, who can provide personalized support or guide you toward an alternative option—the Trustee Introduction Workbook. Although alternative methods may require a different validation process, your line manager or Training Adviser will ensure your module completion is recognized.

Connect and Seek Guidance If you have any questions regarding the Trustee Induction Learning or any other aspect of your Scouts journey, your Training Adviser is your go-to person. If you haven't been assigned a Training Adviser yet, don't hesitate to reach out to your volunteer line manager. They will be more than happy to assist you and provide the support you need.
