Approving Activities in City of Hull District
POR (rule 9.1b) states that “the District Commissioner is responsible for approving all activities for Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts. This will usually be by means of an informal system agreed between the District Commissioner and each Group Scout Leader or District Explorer Scout Commissioner”.

PURPOSE AND USE: This form is to be used to notify the DC where activities are taking place away from the normal meeting place of the group / section when a GSL is not available. It is accepted that this form may be substituted for a phone call if events are planned at short notice such as playing football or rounders on the school field (where the school is not the normal meeting place). This form must be submitted at least SEVEN days before the activity.
Submitting this form, requires you to undertake the following:
- Conduct a suitable Risk Assessment for the activity
- Read the Rules of The Scout Association relating to the proposed activity and confirm that, where required that an appropriately authorised person is attending.
DATA PROTECTION: This form is used to collect information about you and your team for the purpose of approving this activity, this is to be used by your Commissioner. As part of this form we collect personal data about you and your team, this detail is required so that we can check that everyone meets the membership and vetting requirements for the event and that appropriate permit holders are in place. We do not share your personal data provided in this form with any third parties. We take your personal data privacy seriously. The data you provide to us is securely stored.
