Raft Race

We will be holding the District Raft Build and Race at the Model Boat Pond in East Park on the 10th June.

The event will be for members of the Scout and Explorer sections and is intended as a competition for the quickest across the width of the pond and back.  There will also be a some trial sessions for the cub sections as in the last 2 years the event ran.

Entry will be for teams of between 4 and 6 children and times will be staggered into 3 or 4 teams at a time and 1 hour time slots.  Start time will be 9.00 am with slots up to 5.00 pm. Depending on the number of teams wishing to take part.  Half hour taster slots will be available for cub groups.

All we need now are the teams as all equipment will be provided.  Booking onto the event can be done simply by telephone to me on 01482 814147; text on 07481 763851 or email ian.stocks@talk21.com.  Just let me know how many teams and your preferred time slot.  I will allocate on a first come first served basis.

Young people will need a change of clothes and footwear as they will more than likely get wet.  Whilst on the water, cycle helmets and spare footwear will also need to be worn.  No one will be allowed on the water without them.  Please ensure you have sufficient helmets for your team.  The cost is just £1 per person payable to me on the day.  Changing tents for boys and girls will also be provided.

There will be warm and cold drinks / bacon sandwiches and snacks available so please bring a little pocket money.
