Scout Open Weekend

The event will be the usual mix of scouting and sporting skills for scouts to take part in. This year these will include:

In addition we will be reviving the pioneering gateway competition.

As many young people as possible should be encouraged to camp and you will select from those to fill teams of six for each of the events. The idea is that all young people will get a chance to complete in at least two sporting and two scouting events during the weekend.

Leaders will simply have to turn up, support and feed their teams and supply the adults to help run the events. The organisation of those will be handled by the central team. If you only have a few Scouts please come anyway as there will be larger groups who will be pleased to help out with additional competitors for the events.

Cost

Cost of the weekend will be £5 per young person (covering all camp fees) albeit you will camp independently as a group and cater for your team.

What to bring/wear

Teams will need to bring usual camping equipment, food is not included.

When to book

More details will follow but please get this in your diaries now and if you know that your group will be attending please contact Ian to let him know as soon as possible.

An idea of numbers will be collected nearer the time to aid event planning.
