Arrow Competition

Arrow Competition

Saturday, 28th September 2019
10am-5pm

Cubs from across the district take part in various bases during the day, working together to achieve their best at a number of activities and challenges.

The Arrow Competition is an event for the Cub Scouts consisting of teams between three and six Cubs, and a group can enter as many teams as it wishes.

Don’t worry if your young people don’t have the skills to complete all the bases – the bases will be used to teach them, and they will still get points for teamwork and trying hard.  We will make up mixed teams on the day if you don’t have enough Cub Scouts to make up a full team.

The Arrow Competition will be based on all areas of the Cub programme but with the emphasis on outdoor scouting. The bases this year will be (with programme area covered):

Shelter Building Outdoor (Part 2)
Orienteering Adventure (Part 2), Skills (Parts 1 or 2), Teamwork (Part 4)
Pioneering Adventure (Part 2), Outdoor (Part 2)
Pack a rucksack Adventure (Part 4)
Promise challenge Skills (Part 5), or Teamwork (Part 4)
Fire lighting Adventure (Part 2)
Tent pitching Outdoor (Part 2)
A team challenge Skills (Part 5) or Teamwork (Part 4)
Obstacle course Skills (Part 2) or Adventure (Part 2)
