Raft Race

Cubs, Scouts & Explorers will have the challenge of building a raft, then racing it against other teams! Who will be the fastest?

Scouts and Explorer Scouts will be challenged to build a raft, then race it against other teams in the district. Who will be the fastest? Are their pioneering skills up to scratch?

Teams will be made up of between 4 and 6 Young People, with 3 to 4 teams racing at a time in 1 hour time slots, with a maximum of three teams per time slot. Time slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Cub Scouts are invited to race a raft, however they will not need to build it; these will be in half hour slots but there will be no competition between cub teams.

COST

This is £1 per Young Person in the team, this is for upkeep of the materials used, and can be paid on the day.

Participants may wish to bring extra money for refreshments.

What to bring / wear

Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet. Young People should also bring a change of clothes and footwear as well as a cycle helmet. Limited cycle helmets are available to hire if they do not own one Changing tents will be provided.

When to book

Booking is required ASAP to Ian Stocks, to ensure time slots can be allocated. Monies can be paid in cash on the day.

Each group attending must fill out an activity form on or before 8th June. This can be completed here.
